Child Support Enforcement
Orders relating to support and conservatorship of the children are enforceable by the Court. Sanctions for non-payment of child support or failure to comply with periods of possession include imprisonment, garnishment of wages, and other punishments decided by the court.
What Happens If the Other Parent Won’t Pay?
When a parent doesn't want to pay there are many ways to get the other parent to pay. These include:
- Withholding income
- Withholding unemployment benefits
- Withholding disability benefits
- Taking money from bank accounts
- Taking money from tax refunds
- Vehicles and other property
